Should I ask my parents for a birthday present?

My 17th birthday is coming up in two weeks. I haven't really asked my parents for a birthday present either, and they haven't asked me what I wanted or what i wanted to do that day. We are in somewhat of a money crunch, so I feel guilty for asking. But I've never gone without a birthday present before because I only receive presents on my birthday and Christmas. What should I do?
