To ballet or not to ballet?

Okay I want to act and dance is somewhat helpful. I can sing but dancing... It's not I'm bad at it. But ballet people freak me out. Like I looked for some classes and these people are like. "YOU NOT PAY WE SUE YOU!" It's like RELAX! So I want to do ballet and I really don't care that I'd be starting with 8 year olds at 13. So how do I find people who aren't going all anorexic black swan russian slave dancer on me?
